Denny’s Honors Selma 50th Anniversary

America’s Diner Supports Commemorative Events to Remember “Bloody Sunday,” the Selma-to-Montgomery March and Voting Rights Act of 1965

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (March 6, 2015) – Denny's Corporation (Nasdaq: DENN), franchisor and operator of one of America's largest franchised full-service restaurant chains, is pleased to announce its partnership with the Selma 50th Anniversary, underlining its commitment to the important celebrations commemorating fifty years since “Bloody Sunday,” the Selma-to Montgomery March and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. As one of the proud sponsors of the weekend long festival events, Denny’s will support the Bridge Crossing Jubilee on the Edmund Pettus Bridge, a reenactment march on Sunday, March 8 honoring the brave community of civil rights heroes and their profound impact on the Voting Rights Movement.

The events of the 1965 Selma to Montgomery March made a significant impact on America and the world, and the Bridge Crossing Jubilee aims to inspire generations about the voting rights movement. Denny’s has a longstanding history of impacting local communities by giving back and supporting as well as participating in efforts which strive to embrace, promote and celebrate cultural diversity. As an extension of its support, Denny’s is sponsoring the three-hour live broadcast of the Selma 50th “All Start Salute” concert, featuring famous musical artists. This concert will air live via webcast Sunday, March 8th on and, followed by a 60 minute televised show that will air on Sunday, March 15 at 7:00 p.m. CST on the BET Network.
