The mission of the 100 Black Men of the Upstate is to inspire high aspirations among youth and improve the quality of life within African American communities located in the Upstate of South Carolina. We strive to optimize the futures of African American youth and the African American communities we serve. The 100 Black Men of the Upstate seeks to serve as advocates and leaders using our diverse talents and skills within the 100 program initiatives to create environments that inspire youth to achieve at a high level.

We intend to encourage youth and the African American communities that we serve to make healthy choices and become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of Upstate South Carolina and the global society.

The Greater Spartanburg Divine 9

The Greater Spartanburg Divine 9 is composed of the following organizations: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. The purpose of the Greater Spartanburg Divine 9 is to foster cooperative actions of its members in dealing with matters of mutual concern. The Tom Joyner Foundation (TJF)

The Tom Joyner Foundation was founded in 1998 as the brainchild of nationally syndicated radio personality Tom Joyner. The mission of the Foundation is to support historically Black colleges and universities (HBCU) with scholarships, endowments and capacity-building enhancements.The Foundation has provided necessary support to every HBCU in its 20-year history to help sustain and preserve the legacies of these valuable institutions. Through fundraising and donor development initiatives, $65 million has been raised to support more than 29,000 students attending HBCUs. Additionally, the Foundation has recommended internships, offered matching grant support, and career development to deserving students.

Chartered in 1973 as the Carolina Piedmont Foundation, and renamed in 2009, the USC Upstate Foundation exists to seek and accept gifts of charitable, benevolent, cultural and educational purposes for the exclusive benefit of the University. National Veterans Business Development Council Foundation

National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC) was established in 2013 to address the growing need to identify and certify both service disabled and veteran owned businesses (SD/VOBs) in the government and commercial (corporate) marketplace. The NVBDC administers a rigorous certification process designed to withstand the scrutiny of governmental and corporate entities seeking to utilize certified SD/VOBs.

This year's program will support the digitization of up to 200,000 archival photos from the Grant Recipients.
Getty Images will work side‑by‑side with the HBCU Grant recipients during the digitization process.  HBCUs retain all copyright, and original photos will be returned to the HBCUs after scanning, along with the newly digitized photos. Getty Images will represent the digitized photos, providing a new revenue source for the HBCU Grant recipients.
