Covid-19 Updates

We're America's Diner, and while things may have changed and normal doesn't seem so normal, we're still here, day and night, striving to create new ways to safely bring people the food they love. We've taken steps to help ensure the safety of our employees, our guests and our community; from bolstering our sanitation and safety protocols to developing drive-up ordering, curbside pickup and contactless delivery. So, while the world may have changed - our purpose hasn't - we love to feed people and that will always be normal to us.

Denny's Donations - Feeding Bodies and Souls

As America's Diner we feel a responsibility now more than ever to come together and take care of our communities in the best way we know how, by feeding people. Over the past several weeks, Denny's restaurants across the country have donated meals to local hospitals and first responders - from 1,300 breakfast sandwiches in Las Vegas to 1,800 pre-packaged breakfasts and lunches to Los Angeles area hospitals. Additionally, Denny's has donated almost 3 million eggs and over 10,000 lbs of apples to multiple food banks and have forged partnerships with organizations like Feeding America and LULAC who are working to feed those in need.

At many Denny's around the country, we are offering a new Dine-Thru and Curbside services.

Our newest addition to Denny's on Demand, this option is available during the order checkout process on dennys.com. We ask that you enter your car make, model and color and when you arrive, our team member will run your order out to you.

Denny's Strong - Serving the Community

Denny's is proud to support local healthcare providers and emergency services. These members of our community are on the front lines of combatting the spread of Coronavirus/COVID-19 and we are happy to have the ability to show our gratitude in a small way.

Our teams have delivered thousands of hot meals to these local heroes. We appreciate everyone who made this possible and applaud our essential workers across the country for their bravery and commitment during this time.

Feeding minds, body, and souls is Denny's brand purpose and we are happy to have the opportunity to do all three.

Feeding Professional Drivers

Our essential employees are the ones that are making sure our daily lives are as normal as possible during this time. From the doctors and nurses who keep us healthy, to the employees in the food and grocery industries, none of these heroes would be able to perform their critical roles without professional drivers. That's why we've set up our Denny's locations to serve our truckers as quickly and safely as possible.

Typical drive-thru areas can't accommodate 18-wheelers, but Denny's restaurants can! Truck drivers can order online or call ahead and a team member will have their food ready when they pull up. That way, our truckers can get back to being the heroes our local heroes rely on as fast and easily as possible.

Immediate Covid-19 Response Memos

Thursday, March 26, 2020

In the interest of always being open and honest with our customers, we wanted to update everyone on what's happening with our diners.

With the COVID-19 situation changing daily, we've had to remain fluid and adapt our stores to fit regulations across 50 different states and multiple countries. So, we want to remind you to check with your local restaurant for updated store hours and menu item availability.

Please know that even with varied hours, the majority of our locations are still open and ready to serve you! We'll continue to do our best to bring you your diner favorites via Denny's on Demand contactless delivery or pickup. And we're currently offering $5 off orders of $20 or more to anyone who uses code 5OFF20 at checkout.

Thank you again for your support. We'll keep posting updates as things change so we can all get through this together!

Monday, March 16th, 2020

As America's Diner, the health and safety of our guests, employees and the communities we serve is always our top priority.

In an effort to manage the evolving impact of Coronavirus/COVID-19 in our communities, we are willingly adhering to all city and state regulations that require closure of our dine-in facilities, and in some states reducing the number of guests in our dining rooms to allow for heightened focus on social distancing.

While in many states we continue to be open and available to provide a safe experience for each of our guests, if you are unable to join us in our dining rooms, we have also enhanced our focus on pickup and delivery through our Denny's on Demand platform.

As a result, to meet the needs of our guests seeking at-home options in the current uncertain environment, we are now Waiving all Delivery Fees starting today until April 12th. This free delivery is available by simply ordering online at dennys.com.

I also wanted to reinforce that in addition to our strong routine cleaning and sanitation standards that have always met or surpassed all CDC guidelines, we have recently enhanced our procedures across the country to include:

  • Eliminating all condiments, silverware and placemats from each table
  • Cleaning chairs, tables, hi-chairs, and condiment containers after each guest
  • Cleaning critical high touch areas in dining rooms and restrooms every 30 minutes
  • Requiring every employee to wash their hands every 20 minutes with soap and water then apply an alcohol-based hand sanitizer

To our guests in our communities across the country, we thank you for your patronage and your care for one another, and we thank each and every one of our franchisees and our team members in each and every one of our restaurants. Above all else, we at Denny's hope that you are safe and healthy and urge you to continue following all available guidelines. While this situation is a challenge for you, your families and to our communities, we look forward to playing our small part in feeding you and your family in any way possible.

Sincerely,

John Miller
